Forty years ago, a Slovenian couple opened a cozy house with few rooms, a vast garden, and some camping facilities. Along with these scanty furnishings, the couple was able to create a comfortable and homely place for travellers. Just recently the new generation transformed it into a full hostel to what is now known as the Hostel Arko. Despite the big changes, the hostel still retains its homey atmosphere.

The hostel now consists of a modern complex made up of apartment-like set up with every room having its own main door for extra privacy. All the rooms are airy and spacious and come with private baths and storage lockers. Room types include double rooms with a private bath and five-bed dorm that has also a private bath. The original old house has its own kitchen, three double rooms and two toilets. For extra comfort, all beds have orthopedic mattresses.

A good place to meet other guests is the self-catering kitchen which is furnished with the essential kitchen appliances and utensils and where breakfast croissants and homemade jams are served (included in the price). It has a big freezer where pizza, gnocchi, and other meals are kept in case guests don?t feel like cooking or going out.

There is free internet and WiFI, a barbeque, TV, DVD and laundry services. The staff is bilingual and are more than happy to assist the guests.

Hostel Arko also organizes tours and offers trips to the countryside and exploring the hidden treasures of Pantagonia. Two of the brothers are professional mountain climbers and guides and are authors of guidebooks in mountain climbing.
